TrackMates can be used to track Shipment by the customer or by admin.
Trackmates also send shipment's event notifications with the tracking link to the customer (i.e. Address Mismatch, Unable to deliver, delivered, etc) if the notification event defined or saved in TrackMates Setting.

You can check the Order shipment status in the dashboard on clicking view Button. see the above image.
If you want to set event status about customer notification on a specific event. Then click the setting.
Select the tracking provider you want to be set for sending notification.
Then select the events which you want to send the notification.
After choosing the events click save.
That's it. The events will be active for notification.
Notification will be sent to customer When a shipment triggers the events you have selected.
NOTE:- A tracking link will be sent to your customer to view the tracking status of the Shipment.
